Abstract:Objective To explore the impact of an emergency triage system on the medical treatment pro-cess.Methods 100 emergency patients who visited Shanghai Baoshan District Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine between June 2023 and December 2023 were randomly selected as study subjects. The patients were divided into the control group and the observation group based on whether the emergency triage system was applied.Triage-related indicators and healthcare staff satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The observation group had significantly shorter times for assessment, registration, and triage compared to the control group(P<0.001).All patients in the observation group were triaged accurately(100.00%),which was significantly better than the accuracy rate in the control group(90.00%)(P<0.05).Before the implemen-tation of the triage system, there were no significant differences in satisfaction scores regarding the convenience, orderliness, priority, accuracy, and patient compliance with the treatment process between the two groups(P>0.05).After the system was implemented, satisfaction scores in all aspects improved in both groups, with the observation group showing significantly higher scores for convenience, orderliness, priority, accuracy, patient compliance, and overall satisfaction compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The emergency triage system effective-ly shortens the time for patient assessment, registration, and triage, enhances triage accuracy, and improves health-care staff satisfaction.
