Observation of the Efficacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture Combined with Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs on Frozen Shoulder

Abstract:Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy of TCM acupuncture combined with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs on cold-damp obstruction typefrozen shoulder.Methods 80 patients with cold-damp obstruction typefrozen shoulder who were admitted to Jiangxian Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from 2022.05 to 2024.05 were selected and divided into the study group and the control group,with 40 cases in each group.The TCM syndrome score,shoulder function score,and clinical efficacy of the two groups were compared.Results Before treatment,there was no significant difference in the scores of joint pain,joint swelling,joint heav-iness,and joint chill intolerance between the two groups(P>0.05),and after treatment,the scores decreased(P<0.05),while the scores of joint pain,joint swelling,heaviness and joint chills in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.001).Before treatment,there was no significant difference in ROM,ADL,and MMT scores between the two groups(P>0.05),and after treatment,the shoulder function scores were increased(P<0.05),whilethe ROM,ADL and MMT scores in the study group were significantly higher than those in the con-trol group(P<0.05).The clinical response rate of the study group was 95.00%,which was significantly higher than that of the control group(70.00%)(P=0.008).Conclusion Acupuncture can significantly improve the clinical symptoms of frozen shoulder and promote the recovery of joint function.
