Application Effect and Value of All-round Nursing in End-stage Diabetic Nephropathy Patients on Hemodialysis

Abstract：Objective This study evaluates the effectiveness of holistic nursing care in end-stage diabetic nephropathy patients undergoing hemodialysis.Methods Fifty patients at Nanjing Liuhe District People's Hospital from Sept 2019 to Sept 2023 were randomly split into two groups of 25.The study group adopts comprehensive nursing measures including dialysis optimization,individualized nutrition guidance,precise management of complications,deep psychological intervention,rehabilitation training,etc.,while the control group received regular nursing.Comparisons were made regarding blood sugar,nutritional status,and quality of life between the two groups.Results The study group exhibited more significantly reduced fasting/postprandial glucose and HbA1c levels,increased BMI and arm circumference,and decreased nutritional risk than the control group.Quality of life,encompassing psychological,social,physical,and environmental aspects,along with overall and total scores,showed greater improvement in the study group than in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Holistic nursing markedly improves blood sugar management,nutrition,quality of life,and lowers complication rates in advanced diabetic nephropathy patients undergoing hemodialysis.
