Analysis of the Epidemiological Characteristics of Hand Foot and Mouth Disease in Rongcheng from 2020 to 2022

Abstract:Objective To explore the epidemiological characteristics of hand,foot,and mouth disease in Rongcheng and to provide reference for the prevention and control of hand,foot,and mouth disease.Methods The case information of hand-foot-mouth disease(HFMD)from 2020 to 2022 in Rongcheng city was retrospectively investigated.All the case data came from the infectious disease reporting information management system of China Disease Control and prevention information system.The incidence,severity and prognosis of HFMD in Rongcheng were analyzed.The epidemiological characteristics including sex composition,age distribution,onset season,and population classification were analyzed.Results 195 cases of hand,foot,and mouth disease(HFMD)were reported in Rongcheng in the past 3 years,including 22 cases in 2020,63 cases in 2022,and 110 cases in 2022,accounting for 11.28%,32.31%,and 56.41%,respectively.The male and female of Rongcheng's hand,foot,and mouth disease patients in 2020 and 2021 was roughly the same,and the proportion of men increased significantly in 2022.The highest proportion of the age of HFMD patients in the three years was 1~3 years old,and the second was 4~6 years old.In 2022,there were 14 adult patients(12.73%).In the three years as a whole,the incidence was highest in autumn,followed by summer.In 2020 and 2021,the proportion of scattered children was the highest.In 2022,the proportion of preschool children was the highest,followed by scattered children.There are a small number of farmers,workers,teachers,and other professional groups.Conclusion The prevalence of HFMD in Rongcheng increased from 2020 to 2022.The prevalence of HFMD in preschool male children under the age of 6 years was the highest.It is suggested that surveillance and management of epidemic situation should be strengthened in the peak period,key population,and dangerous places,in order to reduce the incidence of diseases and ensure the safety of the population.
