Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical study on the improvement of cancer anorexia in patients with malignant tumor by traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)diet therapy combined with nutrition support.Meth-ods We selected 106 patients with anorexia caused by malignant tumors diagnosed in the Affiliated Hospital of He-bei University of Engineering from February 2022 to February 2023 as the study subjects, and divided them into two groups with 53 cases in each group using the random number table method. The improvement of appetite, visual analogue scale(VAS)score,Anderson symp-tom assessment scale score,weight,pre-blood albumin, blood albumin, quality of life(Karnofsky score, quality of life questionnaire-core 30 score),and treatment compliance(Frankl compliance scale)were studied in the two groups, and the occurrence of adverse events during the period was monitored. Results Before intervention, the general information(such as gender, age, course of disease and tumor type),appetite VAS score,Anderson score, body weight, prealbumin value, blood albumin value,KPS score, and QLQ-C30 score were compared between the two groups, and there was no significant differ-ence between the two groups(P>0.05).After intervention, the total effective rate of the observation group was 94.34%(50/53),which was significantly higher than that of the control group(75.47%(40/53)(P<0.05).The VAS score of the observation group and the Anderson score of both of the two groups after intervention were lower than those before the intervention. After the intervention, the VAS score and Anderson score of the observation group were lower than those of the control group after the intervention, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The body weight,pre-blood albumin value, and blood albumin value of the observation group were higher than those before intervention. The body weight,pre-blood albumin value, and blood albumin value of the observation group were sig-nificantly higher than those of the control group after intervention(P<0.05).The KPS score and QLQ-C30 score in the observation group after the intervention were higher than those before the intervention, the KPS score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, the QLQ-C30 score of the control group was lower than that in the control group after intervention, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The treat-ment compliance of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).There were no adverse reactions such as vomiting, nausea,or stool syrup in the two groups during the intervention peri-od.Conclusion TCM food therapy combined with nutritional support can improve the appetite of patients with malignant anorexia, improve the nutritional status and weight, and improve the quality of life.
