Comparison on the therapeutic effect between total hip replacement arthroplasty and femoral head replacement on femoral neck fracture in elderly patients

Abstract：Objective To compare and analyze the therapeutic effect of total hip replacement arthroplasty and femoral head replacement on femoral neck fracture in elderly patients for exploring choice of surgical methods.Methods 98 cases of hospitalized elderly patients with femoral neck fracture from a hospital of Luoning County were chosen for the study. 50 cases of patients undergoing total hip replacement arthroplasty were chosen as group total hip replacement arthroplasty; 48 cases of patients with femoral head replacement were chosen as group femoral head replacement. Operation time, blood loss volume, postoperative complication rate and duration of hospitalization were compared between the two groups, and clinical therapeutic effects of the two groups were analyzed.Results Duration of hospitalization and blood loss volume of group total hip replacement arthroplasty were higher than that of group femoral head replacement, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Postoperative complication rate of group total hip replacement arthroplasty was 8.00% (4/50), and that of group femoral head replacement was 35.40% (17/48), and the difference in complication between the two groups was statistically significant (χ2=10.93,P<0.01). Good rate of therapeutic effect of group total hip replacement arthroplasty was 84.00% (42/50), and that of group femoral head replacement was 45.83% (22/48), and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (χ2=15.75, P<0.01).Conclusions Both total hip replacement arthroplasty and femoral head replacement can be used in the treatment of elderly patients with femoral neck fracture, but the long-term efficacy of total hip replacement arthroplasty is better than femoral head replacement.
