110 cases of hemifacial spasm treated by microvascular decompression

Abstract：Currently microvascular decompression (MVD) is safe and effective for treating hemifacial spasm (HFS), but there are still ineffective or even failed and postoperative recurrence cases. The authors retrospectively analyzed the curative effect and complications of 110 cases of HFS that treated by MVD, with an aim of summing up experience and providing guidance for clinical work in the future.
