Abstract:Infectious disease is one of the serious diseases threating human health. At present, the aberration rate of infectious microorganism turns to be higher, species of microorganism are becoming diversified, and appears more frequently, these grim facts put forward greater challenges on identification of pathogenic microorganisms. Thus, it is of critical meaningful for early clinical treatment and prognosis of infectious diseases by developing a real-time and efficient technology that could detect microbial volatile organic compounds, and quickly identify pathogenic microorganisms. The author reviewed literatures, briefly introduced several common methods of MVOCs detection and their basic principles at home and abroad, summarized their latest application progress in identification of pathogenic microorganisms, and prospected their future development trend.
