Abstract:Objective To understand the prevalence of suicide ideation among soldiers in anenclosed environment for 2 months training, and explore the correlated psychologicalinfluence factors associated with suicide ideation. Methods Totally 800 soldiers who were trained in an enclosed ambience for 2 months were investigated with the self-rating idea of suicide scale (SIOSS), psychological stress self-evaluation test (PSET) and symptom checklist-90 (SCL-90).Results The incidence rate of suicide idea among soldiers trained in the enclosed environment was 1.92%. There were positive correlations between the overall score of suicidal ideation and psychological stress, together with the overall score of SCL-90 and its all factor scores (P<0.001), and the psychological stress as well as SCL-90 all factor scores of soldiers with suicidal ideation were significantly higher than those of soldiers without suicide idea (P<0.001). The psychological stress and depression factor entered the regression equation of soldier with suicidal ideation during training in the enclosed environment, with the correctiveR2 of the regression model being 0.433.Conclusions The incidence rate of suicidal ideation among soldiers trained in an enclosed environment is low.The stress events and depression are important risk factors for suicidal ideation among soldiers trained in enclosed environment.
