Abstract:Pulmonary tuberculosis is a common respiratory infectious disease. In recent years,a growing number of studies have highlighted the importance of the gut-lung axis in the occurrence and development of pulmonary tuberculosis.Gut microbiota and its metabolites influence immunity and inflammation in pulmonary diseases such as tuberculosis via the gut-lung axis.Conversely, pulmonary tuberculosis infection can also cause ecological imbalance of the gut microbiota through the gut-lung axis. This review summarizes the mechanism of the gut microbiota-immune axis regulation in the occurrence and progression of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection,as well as the potential of biotherapeutics in the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis, aiming to provide new strategies for its management.
