Abstract:Objective To explore the effectiveness of laparoscopic repair of hiatal hernia(HH)combined with Nissen fundoplication on HH and its impact on the quality of life. Methods A retrospective selection was conducted on 80 patients with HH who were treated at the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from June 2021 to June 2023.They were divided into a control group(40 cases, treated with conventional open surgery)and an observation group(40 cases, treated with laparoscopic HH repair combined with Nissen fundoplication)based on different surgical methods. The surgical-related indicators, symptom improvement, quality of life, and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The operation time and hospital stay in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05),and the intraoperative blood loss was less than that in the control group(P<0.05).At 3 months after surgery, the chest pain and reflux scores of the Reflux Disease Questionnaire decreased in both groups(P<0.05),and the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).At 3 months after surgery, the Gastrointestinal Quality of Life Index scores increased in both groups(P<0.05),and the observation group was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group(5.00%)was significantly lower than that in the control group(30.00%)(P<0.05).Conclusion Laparoscopic HH repair combined with Nissen fundoplication can effectively improve the symptoms and surgical-related indicators of HH patients, improve their quality of life, reduce the incidence of adverse reactions, and has good safety.
