Abstract:Objective To explore the relationship between serum interleukin-6(IL-6)and pregnancy-associated plasma protein A(PAPP-A)levels and fetal distress in parturients with premature rupture of membranes. Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 116 parturients with premature rupture of membranes admitted to Xingtai Central Hospital between March 2023 and January 2025.According to the occurrence of fetal distress, they were divided into a fetal distress group(38 cases)and a non-fetal distress group(78 cases).Clinical data and levels of IL-6 and PAPP-A were compared between the two groups.Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the related factors influencing fetal distress in parturients with premature rupture of membranes. Results Compared with the non-fetal distress group, the fetal distress group had higher proportions of abnormal fetal position, hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy, excessive uncoordinated uterine contractions, oligohydramnios, and amniotic fluid contamination, along with a higher IL-6 level and a lower PAPP-A level(P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that abnormal fetal position, hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy, elevated IL-6 level, and decreased PAPP-A level were independent related factors for fetal distress in parturients with premature rupture of membranes(P<0.05).Conclusion Abnormal fetal position, hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy, elevated IL-6 level, and decreased PAPP-A level are independent related factors for fetal distress in parturients with premature rupture of membranes.
