Abstract:Objective To observe the effects of an 8-week exercise rehabilitation program on end-expiratory diaphragmatic thickness(DT-exp),cardiac function, quality of life, and rehospitalization in patients with heart failure(HF).Methods One hundred HF patients admitted to Chuzhou First People's Hospital from November 2024 to June 2025 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group, with 50 patients in each group. The control group received standardized conventional pharmacological treatment, while the experimental group received exercise rehabilitation training in addition to the control group's treatment.DT-exp,left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP),6-minute walk test(6MWT)distance,Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire(MLHFQ)score,30-second chair stand test repetitions, and rehospitalization rate within 8 weeks of treatment were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, both groups showed increases in DT-exp,LVEF,6MWT distance, and 30-second chair stand repetitions(P<0.05),and decreases in NT-proBNP levels and MLHFQ scores(P<0.05).The improvements in all indicators were greater in the experimental group than in the control group,DT-exp[(0.231±0.026)cm vs(0.214±0.026)cm],LVEF[(56.0±7.6)%vs(52.3±10.8)%],6MWT distance[(307.8±21.8)m vs(292.2±49.7)m],30-second chair stand repetitions[(9.16±1.91)times vs(8.10±1.45)times];NT-proBNP levels[621.7(157.1,1 620.2)ng/L vs 1 071.3(264.5,3 512.1)ng/L]and MLHFQ scores[27.5(26.0,34.0)point vs 35.0(29.0,42.0)point]were significantly lower in the experimental group(P<0.05).During the 8-week treatment period, the rehospitalization rate in the experimental group(10.0%)was significantly lower than that in the control group(30.0%)(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of planned exercise rehabilitation with conventional treatment can increase DT-exp,improve cardiac function and quality of life, and reduce the rehospitalization rate in HF patients.
