Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of pulsed radiofrequency of the posterior ramus of the spinal nerve combined with spinal cord stimulation in the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia(PHN).Methods A total of 183 patients with PHN admitted to Beijing Huairou Hospital from January 2023 to November 2024 were prospectively selected and randomly assigned to an observation group(treated with pulsed radiofrequency of the posterior ramus of the spinal nerve combined with spinal cord stimulation,92 cases)and a control group(treated with pulsed radiofrequency of the posterior ramus of the spinal nerve alone,91 cases)according to a random number table. The scores of the Short-Form McGill Pain Questionnaire(SF-MPQ),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS),as well as the incidence of complications, were compared between the two groups. Results At 1 week,1 month,2 months, and 3 months after surgery, all SF-MPQ scores in both groups decreased compared with preoperative scores(P<0.05),and the scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).At 3 months after surgery, all PSQI dimension scores,SAS scores, and SDS scores in both groups decreased(P<0.05),and the scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the total incidence of complications between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Pulsed radiofrequency of the posterior ramus of the spinal nerve combined with spinal cord stimulation can effectively alleviate pain, improve sleep quality and negative emotions in patients with PHN,with good safety.
