Abstract:Objective To investigate the effects of three vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)inhibitors-aflibercept,conbercept,and ranibizumab-on patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration(nAMD).Methods A total of 204 nAMD patients admitted to Suzhou Ninth People's Hospital from October 2020 to September 2024 were selected and randomly divided into the aflibercept group, the conbercept group, and the ranibizumab group, with 68 cases in each group. They were treated with the above VEGF inhibitors for 3 months. The uncorrected visual acuity, changes in foveal retinal thickness, and central retinal thickness of the three groups before and after treatment were compared. The choroidal neovascularization leakage after treatment and the incidence of adverse reactions in the three groups were also compared. Results Comparison of uncorrected visual acuity after treatment:conbercept group>aflibercept group>ranibizumab group, but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).After treatment,The order of decreasing central foveal retinal thickness was Conbercept>Ranibizumab>Aflibercept, while the order for central retinal thickness was Aflibercept>Conbercept>Ranibizumab. No statistically significant differences were found in the intergroup comparisons(P>0.05).The total effective rate of improvement in choroidal neovascularization leakage after treatment in the aflibercept group and the conbercept group was higher than that in the ranibizumab group(P<0.05),but the total effective rate of improvement in choroidal neovascularization leakage in the aflibercept group was similar to that in the conbercept group(P>0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions among the three groups(P>0.05).Conclusions The improvement effects of aflibercept and conbercept on choroidal neovascularization leakage in nAMD patients are superior to those of ranibizumab, but the improvement effects of the three agents on uncorrected visual acuity and foveal retinal thickness are comparable. All three treatments are safe.
