Abstract:Objective To observe the efficacy of batroxobin injection combined with methylprednisolone sodium succinate in the treatment of sudden deafness(SD)in elderly patients, and its effects on hemorheology, coagulation function, and inflammatory factors. Methods A total of 80 elderly patients with SD admitted to Suzhou Ninth People's Hospital from January 2022 to December 2024 were selected and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received methylprednisolone sodium succinate intravenous injection, while the observation group received additional batroxobin injection based on the control group's treatment. Both groups were treated for 10 days.Pure tone hearing threshold, hearing loss score, hemorheology indices[whole blood viscosity(high-shear and low-shear),plasma viscosity],coagulation function indicators[activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT),prothrombin time(PT),and fibrinogen(FIB)],and serum inflammatory factors[interleukin-6(IL-6),high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)]were compared before and after treatment.Clinical efficacy and adverse reactions were also compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(92.50%vs 75.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, both groups showed decreases in pure tone hearing threshold, hearing loss score,high-shear and low-shear whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity,as well as FIB,hs-CRP,and IL-6 levels compared to before treatment(P<0.05),and the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,APTT and PT were significantly prolonged in both groups compared to before treatment(P<0.05),and the observation group showed longer APTT and PT than the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(15.00%vs 10.00%,P>0.05).Conclusion Batroxobin injection combined with methylprednisolone sodium succinate is significantly effective in treating elderly SD patients. It can better improve hemorheology and coagulation function, reduce inflammation, enhance hearing levels, and has good safety.
