Case Series Study on the Effect of Rou Fa Li Jin Manipulation on Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis

Abstract：Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Rou Fa Li Jin manipulation(a Chinese soft-tissue mobilization technique)in the treatment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis(AIS).Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 32 AIS patients who visited the Tuina Pain Department Outpatient Clinic of Dongzhimen Hospital,Beijing University of Chinese Medicine between March 2022 and February 2024 and participated in follow-up visits.General clinical data of the patients were collected.The clinical efficacy and Cobb angle before and after intervention were statistically analyzed.Results After treatment,the improvement in Cobb angle among the 32 AIS patients was(5.38±2.84)°,and the clinical effective rate was 71.9%(23/32).Conclusion Rou Fa Li Jin manipulation can effectively improve the severity of scoliosis in AIS patients and reduce the Cobb angle.
