Abstract:Objective To analyze the relationship between quantitative parameters of contrast-enhanced ultrasound and the conventional pathological features of breast cancer as well as human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)expression.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 108 breast cancer patients admitted to Xingtai Central Hospital from December 2021 to December 2024.Their pathological features were collected. All patients underwent contrast-enhanced ultrasound examination to obtain quantitative parameters[peak intensity(PI),time to peak(TTP),area under the curve(AUC)],and HER2 expression in cancer tissues was detected.Spearman rank correlation was used to analyze the relationships of PI,TTP,and AUC with pathological features and HER2 expression in breast cancer. Results Patients with TNM stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ had higher PI and AUC,and lower TTP than those with stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ(P<0.05).Patients with lymph node metastasis showed higher PI and AUC,and lower TTP compared to those without lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).Patients with low differentiation had higher PI and AUC,and lower TTP than those with moderate to high differentiation(P<0.05).Patients with positive HER2 expression had higher PI and AUC[(24.66±3.08)dB vs(21.98±3.22)dB,P<0.01;(368.85±30.66)dB/s vs(355.60±30.67)dB/s,P<0.05]and lower TTP[(20.88±4.37)s vs(26.46±3.87)s,P<0.01]than those with negative HER2 expression.Spearman rank correlation analysis showed that PI and AUC were positively correlated with TNM stage, lymph node metastasis, and HER2 expression, and negatively correlated with differentiation degree(P<0.05).TTP was negatively correlated with TNM stage, lymph node metastasis, and HER2 expression, and positively correlated with differentiation degree(P<0.01).Conclusion The quantitative parameters of contrast-enhanced ultrasound are closely related to TNM stage, lymph node metastasis, differentiation degree, and HER2 expression in breast cancer patients.Early measurement of these parameters may provide a reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
