Abstract:Objective To analyze the value of serum ferritin(SF),alpha-fetoprotein(AFP),and carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)levels in the diagnosis of primary hepatic carcinoma(PHC)and in the evaluation of the efficacy of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE).Methods A total of 134 patients with intrahepatic space-occupying lesions admitted to Yellow River Sanmenxia Hospital from January 2022 to January 2025 were retrospectively selected as study subjects.According to the nature of the lesions, they were divided into a PHC group(89 cases)and a benign lesion group(45 cases). The levels of SF,AFP,and CEA were compared between the two groups, and the diagnostic value of the combination of SF,AFP,and CEA for PHC was analyzed using receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve. All PHC patients underwent TACE treatment. After 6 weeks of treatment, they were divided into an effective group(53 cases)and an ineffective group(36 cases)based on the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors. The levels of SF,AFP,and CEA at 4 weeks after treatment were compared between the two groups, and the ROC curve was used to analyze the value of the combination of SF,AFP,and CEA at 4 weeks after treatment in evaluating the efficacy of TACE.Results The levels of SF,AFP,and CEA in the PHC group were higher than those in the benign lesion group(P<0.05).ROC curve analysis showed that the area under the curve(AUC)of the combination of SF,AFP,and CEA for diagnosing PHC was 0.983,with a sensitivity of 95.51%and a specificity of 93.33%.At 4 weeks after treatment, the levels of SF,AFP,and CEA in the ineffective group were higher than those in the effective group(P<0.05).ROC curve analysis showed that the AUC,sensitivity, and specificity of the combination of SF,AFP,and CEA at 4 weeks after treatment for evaluating the efficacy of TACE were 0.996,97.22%,and 98.11%,respectively.Conclusion The combination of SF,AFP,and CEA has high value in the diagnosis of PHC and in the evaluation of the efficacy of TACE.
