Association of Cardiac Structure and Autonomic Regulation with Cardiac Function in Arrhythmia Patients

Abstract：Objective To explore the relationship between cardiac structural parameters and autonomic nervous system regulation indices with cardiac function in patients with arrhythmia.Methods A total of 126 patients with arrhythmia admitted to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region People's Hospital from December 2023 to December 2024 were retrospectively selected as the study subjects.According to the New York Heart Association functional classification criteria,they were divided into a grade Ⅰ-Ⅱ group(75 cases)and a grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ group(51 cases).Cardiac structural parameters[left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD),left atrial diameter(LAD),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)]and autonomic nervous system regulation indices[root mean square of successive differences between normal heartbeats(RMSSD),standard deviation of all normal-to-normal intervals(SDNN),normalized low-frequency power(LF),normalized high-frequency power(HF)]were compared between the two groups.Logistic regression analysis was used to identify cardiac structural and autonomic nervous system regulation indices associated with cardiac function in patients with arrhythmia.Results Compared with the grade Ⅰ-Ⅱ group,patients in the grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ group had significantly larger LVEDD and LAD(P<0.05),and significantly lower LVEF,RMSSD,SDNN,LF,and HF(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that LVEDD,LVEF,RMSSD,SDNN,and LF were significantly associated with cardiac function in patients with arrhythmia(P<0.05).Conclusions Cardiac structural parameters and autonomic nervous system regulation indices are related to cardiac function in patients with arrhythmia.Increased attention should be paid to the cardiac function status of arrhythmia patients with abnormalities in these parameters.
