Abstract:Frailty is an age-related syndrome characterized by a decline in the function of multiple organ systems and diminished stress tolerance,which increases the risk of postoperative complications,prolongs hospital stays,and raises mortality rates among elderly surgical patients.This study summarizes the definition,epidemiological features,and various assessment tools for frailty,and analyzes its impact on all aspects of perioperative anesthesia management.It aims to provide a reference for optimizing perioperative anesthesia strategies in elderly surgical patients,reducing perioperative complications,and improving their quality of life and overall health.
