Effects of Nutritional Support Management on Nutritional Indicators and Trace Element Levels in Patients with Primary Liver Cancer Undergoing Chemotherapy

Abstract：Objective To observe the influence of nutritional support management on nutritional indicators and trace element contents in patients with primary liver cancer undergoing chemotherapy.Methods A total of 148 patients with primary liver cancer undergoing chemotherapy admitted to Xijing Hospital of Air Force Medical University from January 2023 to December 2024 were selected as subjects.They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group using a random number table,with 74 cases in each group.The control group received routine intervention,while the observation group received nutritional support management.Both groups were intervened for 6 months.Nutritional indicators[body mass index(BMI),albumin(ALB),hemoglobin(Hb),transferrin(TRF)],trace element contents(serum selenium,iron,zinc),immune function(CD3+,CD4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+),and the total incidence of complications(sarcopenia,digestive tract bleeding,ascites,infection)during the intervention were compared between the two groups before and after intervention.Results After intervention,BMI,ALB,Hb,TRF,serum selenium,iron,zinc,CD3+,CD4+,and CD4+/CD8+significantly increased in both groups(P<0.05),with the observation group showing higher levels than the control group(P<0.05).The CD8+level significantly decreased in both groups(P<0.05),with the observation group lower than the control group(P<0.05).During the intervention,the total complication incidence in the observation group was 10.81%,lower than 28.38%in the control group,showing a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion Nutritional support management can improve nutritional indicators and trace element contents in patients with primary liver cancer undergoing chemotherapy,thus helping to improve immune function and reduce the risk of complications.
