Effect of Kushen Zhidai Decoction on Viral Load and Recurrence Rate in Patients with Dampness-Toxin Accumulation Pattern HR-HPV Cervical Infection

Abstract：Objective To observe the effects of Kushen Zhidai Decoction on viral load and recurrence rate in patients with damp-toxin accumulation pattern high-risk human papillomavirus(HR-HPV)cervical infection.Methods A total of 160 patients with HR-HPV cervical infection admitted to Shaanxi Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2022 to November 2024 were selected and divided into an observation group and a control group by the random number table method,with 80 cases in each group.The control group was given Baofukang Suppositories(1 capsule once daily).The observation group was given both Baofukang Suppositories(1 capsule once daily)and Kushen Zhidai Decoction(1 dose per day,divided into three doses).Both groups were treated continuously for 3 months.The clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared.HR-HPV viral load,TCM syndrome score,thin-prep cytologic test(TCT)results,cervical secretion inflammatory indicators(interleukin-1β,interleukin-6,tumor necrosis factor-α)before and after treatment were compared.Recurrence was recorded at the 3-month follow-up after treatment.Results The total effective rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,both groups showed a decrease in HR-HPV viral load,TCM syndrome scores,and cervical secretion inflammatory markers,with the observation group exhibiting lower levels(P<0.05).After treatment,the normal TCT rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The recurrence rate in the observation group at the 3-month follow-up was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Kushen Zhidai Decoction can reduce the viral load and recurrence rate in patients with damp-toxin accumulation pattern HR-HPV cervical infection and demonstrates favorable clinical efficacy.
