The Effects of Edaravone Dexborneol Combined with Butylphthalide on ESRS Scores,Hemorheology and Serum MMP-9 in Patients with Transient Ischemic Attack

Abstract：Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of edaravone and riluzole combined with butylph-thalide in the treatment of patients with transient ischemic attack(TIA).Methods From January 2022 to Decem-ber 2024,150 patients with TIA admitted to Zhuhai Hospital of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital were prospec-tively selected and randomly divided into the control group(75 patients,treated with edaravone and dexborneol)and the combined group(75 patients,treated with edaravone and dexborneol combined with butylphthalide)by the ran-dom number table method.The clinical efficacy,Essen stroke risk score(ESRS)score,National Institutes of Health stroke scale(NIHSS)score,hemorheological indicators(high shear whole blood viscosity,low shear whole blood vis-cosity,fibrinogen,platelet aggregation rate),serum matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9)level,homocysteine(Hcy)level,and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups after 2 weeks of treatment.Results After two weeks of treatment,the total effective rate of the combined group was 93.33%(70/75),which was higher than that of the control group at 74.67%(56/75)(P<0.05).After two weeks of treatment,the ESRS score,the NIHSS score,whole blood high shear viscosity,whole blood low shear viscosity,fibrinogen level,platelet aggregation rate,serum MMP-9 level,and serum Hcy levels in both groups decreased,and the values in the combined group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Edaravone and riluzole combined with butylphthalide improves the clinical efficacy in TIA patients,improves hemorheology and neurological function indicators,reduce serum MMP-9 levels,lowers the risk of stroke,and has good safety.
