Comparison of Efficacy and Safety between Oxycodone Hydrochloride and Pregabalin in Treating Advanced Colorectal Cancer Pain

Abstract：Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of oxycodone hydrochloride and pregabalin in treat-ing advanced colorectal cancer(CRC)pain.Methods A total of 150 patients with advanced CRC pain admitted to the People's Hospital of Mengzi from March 2023 to December 2024 were selected.They were divided into the oxycodone group(75 cases treated with oxycodone hydrochloride sustained-release tablets)and the pregabalin group(75 cases treat-ed with pregabalin capsules)using the random number table method.The efficacy,adverse reactions,and life-related in-dexes were compared between the two groups.Results There was no statistically significant difference in the overall ef-fective rate between the two groups(90.67%vs 86.67%,P>0.05).After treatment,the numeric rating scale scores of the oxycodone group were significantly lower than those of the pregabalin group,and the differences were statistically sig-nificant[(4.67±1.32)points vs(5.14±1.44)points,P<0.05].The proportion of constipation,nausea and vomiting were significantly higher in the oxycodone group than in the pregabalin group,while the proportion of dizziness and lethar-gy and peripheral edema were significantly lower in the oxycodone group than in the pregabalin group,with statistical-ly significant differences(32.00%vs 6.67%,P<0.05;28.00%vs 14.67%,P<0.05;12.00%vs 25.33%,P<0.05;1.33%vs 12.00%,P<0.05).The European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer quality of life questionnaire-core 30 score for physical function,Pittsburgh sleep quality index and hospital anxiety and depression scale-anxiety scores of the oxycodone group were significantly higher than those of the pregabalin group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion For patients with advanced CRC,oxycodone hydrochloride and pregabalin can effectively treat visceral pain and neuropathic pain,respectively.However,there are certain differences in adverse reactions,physical dimension,psychological dimension,and sleep between the two drugs.In clinical practice,the drug should be chosen based on the actual condition.
