Abstract:Objective To investigate the joint association patterns of the Dietary Oxidative Balance Score(DOBS)with leisure time physical activity(LTPA)and occupation-related physical activity(OPA)on cardiovascular disease(CVD)risk. Methods This cross-sectional study utilized data from the national health and nutrition examination survey(NHANES)from 2007 to 2020,including 31 232 adults.DOBS was constructed based on 16 dietary components(antioxidants/pro-oxidants),while physical activity types were classified using the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire.Logistic regression was employed to assess the associations between DOBS tertiles(Q1,Q2,Q3)and CVD risk, with stratified analyses by physical activity com-pliance status(meeting vs not meeting the recommended≥150 min/week).Results After adjusting for multiple confounding factors, the risk of CVD in DOBS Q1 was 64%higher than that in DOBS Q3(OR=1.64,95%CI:1.29-2.07),showing a linear dose-response relationship with CVD risk.Stratified analyses revealed that meeting LTPA recommendations significantly atten-uated the association between low DOBS and CVD,whereas OPA compliance exacerbated the association. Conclusion Dietary antioxidant capacity was inversely associated with CVD risk.Meeting LTPA recommendations synergistically reduced CVD risk in populations with low DOBS,while OPA compliance may increase the risk.CVD prevention requires emphasis on combined dietary and leisure-time PA interventions.Prospective studies are needed to validate temporal relationships and biological mechanisms.
