Abstract:Postoperative cognitive impairment(POCD)is a common neurological complication after general anesthesia surgery. In recent years,it has been found that neuroinflammation caused by anesthesia and surgery is considered the main factor leading to the occurrence and development of POCD.Systemic inflammatory response, peripheral inflammation associated with central nervous system inflammation, and the interaction between microglia and astrocytes all play potential roles in the occurrence of POCD.At present, research on the prevention of neuroinflammation in postoperative cognitive impairment is mostly in the basic research stage, mainly including regulating the phenotype polarization of microglia, directly applying anti-inflammatory drugs, and inhibiting inflammatory signaling pathways at the cellular and molecular levels to achieve neuroprotective effects.Mechanic studies on neuroinflammation involved in the occurrence and development of POCD contribute to the prevention and treatment of POCD in clinical practice.
