Effect of Yiqi Huoxue Decoction on Angina Pectoris and Endothelial Function in Patients with Coronary Heart Disease and Unstable Angina Pectoris of Qi Deficiency and Blood Stasis Syndrome after Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of Yiqi Huoxue Decoction on angina pectoris and endothelial function in patients with coronary heart disease and unstable angina pectoris of Qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).Methods A total of 158 patients with coronary heart disease and unstable angina pectoris of Qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome at post-PCI treated in Department of Cardiology,Shunyi Hospital of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine between January 2020 and June 2024 were selected.After excluding 2 cases lost to follow-up,the remaining were randomly divided into the observation group(n=79)and control group(n=79)using the random number table.Conventional western medicine was given to all patients,and those in the observation group were additionally given Yiqi Huoxue Decoction.All treatment regimens were conducted for 4 weeks.The traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome score,the Seattle Angina Questionnaire(SAQ)scores,vascular endothelium function,and safety were compared.Results After treatment,the TCM syndrome scores in both groups were significantly reduced than pre-treatment values(P＜0.05),which were significantly lower in the observation group than the control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,the scores of each dimension in the SAQ in both groups were significantly elevated than pre-treatment values(P＜0.05).Notably,the scores of dimensions in the physical activity restriction(PL),stable angina(AS),angina attack status(AF),treatment satisfaction(TS)were significantly higher in the observation group than the control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,the endothelin-1 levels in both groups were significantly reduced than pre-treatment values(P＜0.05),which were significantly lower in the observation group than the control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,the nitric oxide levels in both groups were significantly elevated than pre-treatment values(P＜0.05),which were significantly higher in the observation group than the control group(P＜0.05).No obvious adverse events occurred in both groups.Conclusion Yiqi Huoxue Decoction improves symptoms in patients with coronary heart disease and unstable angina pectoris of Qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome at post-PCI,and alleviates its attack by regulating vascular endothelium function.
