Abstract:Objective This study aims to analyze the factors and judgment methods that affect the status of non-sen-tinel lymph nodes(NSLN)in patients with positive sentinel lymph nodes(SLN)in early breast cancer. Methods A total of 200 patients who underwent surgery for invasive breast cancer in Nanjing Gulou Hospital Group Suqian Hospital from January 2021 to December 2023 were selected.Sentinel lymph node(SLN)mapping and axillary lymph node dissection were performed, and pathological examinations were carried out on all lymph node samples. Results Factors such as the patient's age,pal-pability of primary tumors and axillary lymph nodes, pathological type, pathological grade, and hormone receptor status had no significant effect on NSLN metastasis(P>0.05 for all). The size of the primary tumor had a certain correlation with NSLN me-tastasis(P<0.05).When only one SLN was positive, the probability of NSLN metastasis was relatively low. When three or more SLNs were positive, the probability of NSLN metastasis increased. Conclusion The number of positive SLNs is closely relat-ed to NSLN metastasis. The size of the primary tumor is a risk factor affecting the metastasis of NSLNs.The size of the primary tumor and positive SLNs can be important predictors of NSLN involvement.
