Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of different sperm DNA fragmentation rate(DFI)on the outcome of in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer(IVT-ET)in infertility patients. Methods A total of 169 infertile patients treated with IVF-ET in our hospital from August 2021 to December 2023 were selected. The spouses of all patients were collected semen before IVF-ET to detect DFI and conventional semen indexes, and the outcome of IVF-ET was analyzed.Infertility patients were divided into high DFI group(53 cases)and low DFI group(116 cases)according to the threshold value of DFI prediction of fertilization rate. The differences of conventional semen indexes and IVF-ET outcomes among groups with different DFI levels were compared, and the correlation between DFI and conventional semen indexes was analyzed by Pearson. Results The critical value of DFI predicted fertilization rate was 26%.The percentage of forward motile sperm(PR)and fertilization rate in high DFI group were lower than those in low DFI group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in sperm concentration, normal sperm morphology rate and IVF-ET outcome between the two groups(P>0.05).Sperm DFI was negatively correlated with PR(r=-0.691,P<0.05),but not with sperm concentration(r=-0.159,P>0.05)or normal sperm morphology rate(r=0.017,P>0.05).Conclusion DFI is related to sperm motility and IVF fertilization rate, but has no significant effect on the clinical outcome of IVF-ET.
