Clinical Efficacy of Bushen Huoxue Formula in Treating Chronic Endometritis with Kidney Deficiency and Blood Stasis Syndrome and Its Effect on Serum IL-6,TNF-α,and E2 Levels

Abstract：Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of the Bushen Huoxue Formula in treating chronic endometritis(CE)with kidney deficiency and blood stasis syndrome and its effects on serum interleukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),and estradiol(E2)levels.Methods A total of 116 patients with CE and kidney deficiency and blood stasis syndrome who received treatment from July 2022 to July 2023 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group,with 58 cases in each group.The control group was treated with metronidazole and cefixime,while the experimental group was given the Bushen Huoxue Formula with modifications on the basis of the control group's treatment,one dose per day.The TCM syndrome scores,comprehensive clinical efficacy,endometrial morphology and pathological changes,levels of inflammatory factors(IL-6,IL-10,TNF-α),levels of sex hormones[follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),estradiol(E2),and progesterone(P)]were compared between the two groups,and the adverse reactions of the two groups of patients during the treatment period were observed.A 6-month follow-up was conducted to record pregnancy and miscarriage situations.Results Three patients dropped out in the control group,and 55 completed the trial;4 patients dropped out in the experimental group,and 54 completed the trial.After treatment,the main symptoms,secondary symptoms,total scores,resistance index(RI),pulsatility index(PI),endometrial thickness,IL-6,TNF-α,and E2 levels in the experimental group improved more significantly than those in the control group(P＜0.05);there was no statistically significant difference in IL-10,FSH,and P levels between the two groups(P＞0.05).The total effective rate of endometrial pathological tissue efficacy in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group(92.59％vs 81.82％,P＜0.05),and the total effective rate of comprehensive efficacy was also higher than that in the control group(90.74％vs 80.00％,P＜0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the total effective rate of endometrial morphological efficacy between the two groups(96.30％vs 89.09％,P＞0.05).During the follow-up period,the pregnancy rate in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group(48.15％vs 27.27％,P＜0.05),but there was no statistically significant difference in the miscarriage rate(11.54％vs 26.67％,P＞0.05).No adverse reactions occurred in either group during the treatment period.Conclusion The Bushen Huoxue Formula can safely and effectively improve the clinical cure rate of patients with CE and kidney deficiency and blood stasis syndrome,and its mechanism may be related to the improvement of serum IL-6,TNF-α,and E2 levels.
