Abstract:Objective To analyze the incidence of emotional disorders in patients with breast cancer during their first taxane chemotherapy and observe the clinical efficacy of targeted interventions after an investigation of individual needs. Methods A total of 120 breast cancer patients who received their first taxane chemotherapy at the 980 Hospital of the People's Liberation Army Joint Logistics Support Forces from June 2016 to June 2022 were selected as the research subjects. The Modified Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and the Modified Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)were used to evaluate whether the patients had emotional disorders and the specific degree. Then, the patients with emotional disorders were screened out and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group by the lottery method.Individual needs surveys were conducted for both groups. The control group received conventional treatment and interventions, while the observation group was given targeted intervention measures based on the results of the individual needs questionnaires on top of the control group's treatment. The changes in the scores of the individual needs questionnaires,SAS scores,SDS scores, and Profile of Mood States-Short Form(POMS-SF)scores before and after the intervention were compared between the observation group and the control group,as well as the nausea and vomiting conditions during chemotherapy in the two groups. Results Among the 120 breast cancer patients,95 had emotional disorders, accounting for 79.17%.After the intervention, the scores of breast cancer medical knowledge needs, physical health education content, and mental health acquisition concepts in both the observation group and the control group were higher than those before the intervention in their respective groups(P<0.05),and all the scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After the intervention, the SAS and SDS scores of both groups were lower than those before the treatment in their respective groups(P<0.05),and the SAS and SDS scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).After the intervention, the scores of tension-anxiety,depression-dejection,anger-hostility,fatigue-dullness,and confusion-chaos in the POMS-SF of both groups decreased(P<0.05),and the score of vigor-vitality increased(P<0.05),and the scores of tension-anxiety,depression-dejection,and confusion-chaos in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05),and the score of vigor-vitality was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).During chemotherapy, the nausea and vomiting degree classification of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The incidence of emotional disorders is high in patients with breast cancer during their first taxane chemotherapy.Implementing targeted intervention measures based on the results of individual needs surveys can improve the emotional disorders of patients.
