Abstract:Objective To analyze the corrective effect of multi-segment oblique lateral interbody fusion(OLIF)on patients with degenerative lumbar scoliosis and its impact on the Oswestry Disability Index(ODI).Methods A total of 120 patients with degenerative lumbar scoliosis in Sanmenxia Hospital of the Yellow River from October 2020 to October 2023 were selected as the research objects and grouped according to the surgical methods.Sixty patients who received OLIF treatment were included in the OLIF group, and 60 patients who received transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion(TLIF)treatment were included in the TLIF group. The surgical-related indicators(surgical time, intraoperative blood loss, length of hospital stay),spinal structural indicators(Cobb angle, intervertebral space height),spinal-pelvic imaging parameters[spinal-pelvic sagittal lumbar lordosis angle(LL),sacral tilt angle(SS),sagittal vertical axis(SVA),pelvic tilt angle(PT)],and Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)were compared between the two groups. Results The surgical time, intraoperative blood loss, and length of hospital stay in the OLIF group were lower than those in the TLIF group(P<0.05).Three months after surgery, the intervertebral space height,Cobb angle,LL,SS,SVA,PT,and ODI scores in both groups were improved compared with those before surgery(P<0.05),and the intervertebral space height,LL,and SS in the OLIF group were higher than those in the TLIF group(P<0.05),while the Cobb angle,SVA,PT,and ODI scores were lower than those in the TLIF group(P<0.05).Conclusion OLIF can significantly improve the spinal structure of patients with degenerative lumbar scoliosis, restore spinal function, and alleviate functional impairment.
