Abstract:Objective To explore the impact of respiratory training combined with sensorimotor integration training on the upper limb motor recovery of patients with cerebral infarction. Methods A total of 105 patients with cerebral infarction who were treated in Mianyang Central Hospital from September 2022 to December 2023 were randomly divided into two groups. The control group(n=52)underwent respiratory training based on conventional rehabilitation treatment, while the observation group(n=53)received combined sensorimotor integration training on top of the control group. The upper limb motor function, neurological function, lung function, and balance ability of the two groups were compared before and after treatment. Results After 1 month of treatment, the scores of the Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA)and the Simple Test for Evaluating Hand Function(STEF)both increased in both groups(P<0.05),and the observation group had higher scores than the control group(P<0.05).After 1 month of treatment, the scores of the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)of both groups decreased and the scores of the Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE)increased(P<0.05),and the NIHSS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05),while the MMSE score was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Regarding the forced vital capacity(FVC),the percentage of the forced expiratory volume in the first second to the predicted value(FEV1%pred),and the peak expiratory flow(PEF),all these indicators increased in both groups after 1 month of treatment(P<0.05),and the values in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After 1 month of treatment, the Berg Balance Scale(BBS)scores of both groups increased(P<0.05),and the observation group had a higher BBS score than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of respiratory training and sensorimotor integration training can improve the upper limb motor function, neurological function, and lung function of patients with cerebral infarction,as well as enhance their balance ability, thus possessing certain value for clinical application and promotion.
