Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of intensity modulated radiotherapy(IMRT)combined with Tegafur in the treatment of esophageal cancer patients. Methods A total of 86 esophageal cancer patients treated at Fuyang Minsheng Hospital from June 2022 to November 2023 were included. All patients were divided into an observation group(43 cases)and a control group(43 cases)using the even-numbered hospital admission method.Patients in the control group were treated with IMRT,while those in the observation group received a combination of Tegafur and IMRT.The dif-ferences in clinical efficacy and adverse reactions were analyzed. Results The overall effective rate in the observation group reached 58.1%,significantly higher than the 34.9%in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of radiation damage, gastrointestinal adverse reactions, liver dysfunction,or other adverse reactions between the groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of IMRT and Tegafur demonstrated good clinical efficacy in treating esophageal cancer, with effective tumor marker control and minimal side effects, making it worthy of clinical application and promotion.
