Abstract:Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of modified Shenling Baizhu San combined with anti-tuberculosis drugs on patients with multidrug-resistant tuberculosis(MDR-TB)and a Qi-Yin deficiency constitution,as well as its effects on inflammatory factors. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the medical records of 120 patients with MDR-TB treated at Cangzhou Third Hospital from June 2022 to June 2024.The patients were divided into a control group and an observa-tion group, with 60 patients in each group. The control group received standard treatment for MDR-TB(Bedaquiline+Linezolid+Cycloserine+Clofazimine+Moxifloxacin),while the observation group was additionally treated with modified Shenling Baizhu San.The two groups were compared in terms of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)symptom scores, lesion absorption rates,spu-tum culture conversion rates, and levels of inflammatory factors[tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),C-reactive protein(CRP),and interleukin-8(IL-8)].Results After treatment, the TCM symptom scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05),and the rates of lesion absorption and sputum culture conversion were significantly higher in the observation group(P<0.05).Furthermore,the levels of TNF-α,CRP,and IL-8 in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Modified Shenling Baizhu San,combined with conventional anti-tuberculosis treatment, can significantly improve the condition of MDR-TB patients with Qi-Yin deficiency by reducing inflammatory factor levels, and it offers better safety.
