Abstract:Objective To analyze the correlation between the total cholesterol(TC)/high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)ratio and cardiovascular events in perimenopausal women. Methods A total of 142 perimenopausal women who were received by Xingtai People's Hospital from January 2021 to November 2023 were selected as the study subjects and were divided into the occurrence group(n=28)and the non-occurrence group(n=1 14)according to whether cardiovascular events occurred.Serum TC and HDL-C levels were measured in all subjects after admission, and the TC/HDL-C was calculated. The general data, biochemical indexes, and TC/HDL-C were analyzed and compared among all groups. The receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC)was used to evaluate the predictive value of TC/HDL-C for the occurrence of cardiovascular events in perimenopausal women.Multiple Logistic regression was used to analyze the related factors affecting the oc-currence of cardiovascular events in perimenopausal women. Results The levels of follicle stimulating hormone(FSH),estradiol(E2),progesterone(P),luteinizing hormone(LH)and HDL-C in perimeno-pausal women in the occurrence group were lower than those in the non-occurrence group, while the proportions of hypertension history, diabetes history, low bone mineral density, and the levels of triglyceride(TG,)TC,low density lipopro-tein cholesterol(LDL-C),TC/HDL-C,and Hey were higher than those in the non-occurrence group(all P<0.05).The ROC curve results showed that the area under the curve(AUC)of TC/HDL-C for predicting the occurrence of cardiovascular events in perimenopausal women was 0.910(95%confidence interval[CI]:0.860-0.960).Multiple Logistic regression analysis showed that low bone mineral density(odds ratio[OR]=2.423,95%CI:1.535-3.825),history of hypertension(OR=2.098,95%CI:1.451-3.033),history of diabetes(OR=2.707,95%CI:1.655-4.428),FSH<3.68 pg/L(OR=2.787,95%CI:1.687-4.603),E2<25.64 ng/ml(OR=2.904,95%CI:1.744-4.834),Hey≥ 12.66 mmol/L(OR=3.142,95%CI:1.837-5.377),and TC/HDL-C≥2.55(OR=3.766,95%CI:2.003-7.079)were risk factors for the occurrence of cardiovascular events in perimenopausal women(P<0.05).Conclusion The increase in TC/HDL-C level is closely related to the occurrence of cardiovascular events in perimenopausal women and is a risk factor for cardiovascular events, which is helpful to provide guidance for the clinical pre-diction of cardiovascular events in perimenopausal women.
