Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of applying the inframammary fat fascia flap in breast-conserving plas-tic surgery for tumors in the lower quadrant of the breast. Methods Ninety-six patients who underwent breast-conserving plastic surgery for lower quadrant tumors in Leshan People's Hospital from September 2021 to September 2023 were selected and divided into an observation group(n=52)and a control group(n=44)according to the method of breast defect repair. Both groups underwent radical surgery. The observation group was given repair with the inframammary fat fascia flap, while the con-trol group was given repair with the lateral thoracic fat fascia flap. The surgery-related indicators, differences in breast appear-ance,and complications of the two groups were observed and compared. Results In the comparisons of operation time,intra-operative blood loss, postoperative drainage time, postoperative drainage volume, incidence rates of local recurrence and distant metastasis, statistical analysis showed that there was no significant difference between the observation group and the control group(P>0.05).The postoperative breast appearance of the observation group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05),with an excellent and good rate of 98.08%.The score of the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Breast(FACT-B)of breast cancer patients in the observation group one year after surgery was(105.55±10.03)points,which was significantly high-er than that of the control group[(94.44±11.12)points](P<0.05).The total incidence rate of complications in the observation group was 3.85%,which was significantly lower than that of the control group(20.45%)(P<0.05).Conclusion The ap-plication of the inframammary fat fascia flap in breast-conserving plastic surgery for lower quadrant tumors has good postopera-tive breast cosmetic effects, without a significant increase in operation time and surgical complications.
