Study on Ureteral Stricture after Ureteroscopic Lithotripsy Treatment

Abstract：Objective To investigate the risk factors for the occurrence of ureteral stricture following ureteroscopic lithotripsy.Methods A total of 90 patients with ureteral calculi were collected,who were admitted to the Department of U-rology in Baoshan branch,Renji Hospital,Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from October 2019 to October 2024.All patients underwent ureteroscopic lithotripsy for the treatment of calculi.Based on the postoperative condition,there were 25 patients in the ureteral stricture group and 65 patients in the non-stricture group.The general and clinical informa-tion of the two groups were collected and cpmpared by univariate and multivariate analyses to identify the relevant risk factors for the occurrence of ureteral stricture after ureteroscopic lithotripsy.Results Univariate analysis demonstrated that the dis-ease course,stone diameter,incarcerated stones,polyp encapsulation,hydronephrosis,and lithotripsy time were significantly related with the occurrence of postoperative ureteral stricture (all P<0.01).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis indica-ted that longer than 3 months of disease course,larger than 2 cm of stone diameter,and longer than 60 min of lithotripsy time were the risk factors significantly associated with ureteral stricture (P<0.05).Conclusion The longer disease course,lar-ger stone diameter,and longer lithotripsy time are the main risk factors for ureteral stricture after ureteroscopic lithotripsy.Medical staff should thoroughly consider the relevant risk factors prior to surgery and formulate a safe and effective treatment plan in a targeted manner to reduce the occurrence of ureteral stricture after ureteroscopic lithotripsy
