Abstract:Objective To evaluate the impact of dapagliflozin combined with semaglutide on cardiac function and se-rum biomarkers in patients with obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) complicated by heart failure. Methods From July 2020 to July 2023,124 patients diagnosed with obesity and T2DM complicated by heart failure were randomly assigned to two groups:the control group, which received semaglutide monotherapy, and the experimental group, which received dapagli-flozin combined with semaglutide. The treatment duration was 12 weeks. Changes in BMI,blood glucose levels, lipid profiles, inflammatory markers, and cardiac function indices were analyzed. Results After 12 weeks of treatment, the experimental group showed significant improvements in BMI,waist-hip ratio (WHR),and total cholesterol (TC) levels compared to the control group (P<0.01). Serum inflammatory markers, including C-reactive protein (CRP),interleukin-6 (IL-6),and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α),were significantly reduced in the experimental group (P<0.01). Regarding cardiac function, the ex-perimental group demonstrated a significant increase in left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and significant reductions in left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD) and N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) levels (P<0.01). Conclusion The combined use of dapagliflozin and semaglutide is highly effective in treating patients with obesity and T2DM complicated by heart failure, especially in improving cardiac function and modulating serum biomarkers. This combination ther-apy provides a novel and effective therapeutic approach for this patient population.
