Abstract:Objective To investigate the application effect of Metformin combined with Agomelatine in the treatment of depression in perimenopausal women with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)and its impact on quality of life. Methods A total of 200 perimenopausal women with T2DM and depression admitted from January 2017 to December 2019 were randomly divided into the research group(n =100)and the control group(n =100).The control group was treated with Metformin combined with Venlafaxine, and the research group was treated with Metformin combined with Agomelatine. The improvement of Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)score, ovarian function, sleep and quality of life in the two groups before and after treatment were observed, and the occurrence of adverse reactions during treatment was recorded. Results At 14,28 and 42 d after treatment,HAMD scores in the research group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treat-ment,luteinising hormone(LH)and follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)levels in the research group were lower than those in the control group, while E2 levels were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of sleep status in the research group were lower than those in the control group, while the scores of life quality were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The fasting blood glucose and 2-hour postprandial blood glucose levels in the research group were lower than those in the control group after treatment(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in the research group was[8.0%(8/100)],which was lower than that in the control group[25.0%(25/100)](P<0.05).Conclusion Metformin combined with Agomelatine in the treatment of perimenopausal women with T2DM and depression can improve ovar-ian function and sleep, reduce depressive mood, with good effect and fewer adverse reactions.
