Abstract:Objective To investigate the methylation status of the cyclin-dependent kinase 10 ( CDK10) gene promoter in breast cancer. Methods Methylation-specific polymerase chain re-action was performed to observe CDK10 gene promoter methyation in 50 cases of breast cancer ti-ssues companied with their adjacent non-cancerous tissues. The relationship between CDK10 gene methyation and clinical pathological parameters were also analyzed. Results Methylated CDK10 gene was frequently observed in 60. 0% (30/50) of primary tumors, but not in any normal tissue. CDK10 gene methylation was significantly correlated with lymph node metastasis and TNM staging of tumors ( P<0. 05) . Conclusion CDK10 gene methylation may possess a significant function in the development of breast cancer.
