Abstract:Objective To explore the association of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH) D] level with type 2 diabetic nephropathy. Methods Ninety-four type 2 diabetes mellitus ( T2DM) patients were recruited and further divided into normal albuminuria group, microalbuminuria group and macroalbuminuria group, and 30 healthy people were selected as control. The level of serum 25( OH) D was detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay, and the levels of fasting blood,gly-cosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), functions of renal, beta-2 microglobulin (β2-MG), blood lipid, calcium, phosphorus and blood pressure were measured as usual. Correlation analysis between 25( OH) D and other indicators had been performed. Results The level of serum 25 ( OH ) D in T2DM group was significantly lower than that in healthy subjects and the difference was statistically significant ( F=84. 339, P<0. 05) . Serum 25( OH) D levels of the other three groups were gradually decreased and significant differences were observed (P<0. 05).Serum 25(OH)D levels were nega-tively correlated with diabetic duration, age, BMI, fasting blood, HbA1c, systolic pressure, blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, uric acid,β2-MG, total cholesterol, and LDL-C ( r=-0. 571—-0. 194, P<0. 05), and positive correlated with blood calcium (r=0. 253, P=0. 005). Conclusion The level of serum 25( OH) D may related to type 2 diabetic nephropathy, and reflect its severe degree.
