Experiences about translational medicine of traditional Chinese medicine on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease

Abstract：Recently the concept of translational medicine is gradually merging into our na-tional technology strategic decision making and key science and technology project. Research in this field of traditional Chinese medicine ( TCM) has also obtained great enhancement and made remar-kable progress, however, most of these research is still in the initial stage. Our research team has fo-cus on the basic and clinical research about prevention and treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver di-sease ( NAFLD) more than ten years. Inspired by translational medicine’s ideas, we have reached some achievements concerning the etiology and pathogenesis, syndrome classification, therapy schemes with different stages with NAFLD. Our research experience and development process in pre-vention and treatment of NAFLD are expected to provide some consolidated references for translational research of TCM.
