Abstract:From neuroanatomy, pathophysiology, imageology and histopathology perspective, pathogenesis of non-ketotic hyperglycemic chorea-ballism is explored. Clinical data from literatures of non-ketotic hyperglycemic chorea-ballism are analyzed retrospectively. The disease mechanisms are not yet clear. It is known that there are many factors involved in the pathogenesis. Non-ketotic hyper-glycemic chorea-ballism mainly affects Asian women with hyperglycemia. MRI T1 shows reversible high signals in basal ganglia region. The prognosis of this condition is good.
