Abstract：By taking the definition of translational medicine as the very first commence, the article gives a retrospective study of the development process of the translational medicine institute both in China and America.This study manages to provide a clear and systematical summary of the characteristics of the American translational medicine institute in management mechanism, organiza-tional setup and operational patterns.It also analyzes some problems of translational medicine institute in China.Through it, provide the reference for the development of translational medicine institute in China.
