Abstract:Objective To understand the resistance levels and differences of Aedes albopictus to commonly used insecticides in various regions of Shanghai in 2024,so as to provide a scientific basis for urban vector control. Methods The median lethal concentration(LC50)of common insecticides was determined for Ae.albopictus larvae using the larval immersion method. Results In 2024,the Ae.albopictus population in Shanghai showed moderate to high resistance to pyrethroid insecticides, with resistance ratios to deltamethrin ranged from 17.50 to 87.50,with the highest resistance observed in Pudong New Area.Except for Baoshan District, which showed moderate resistance to propoxur(with resistance ratios of 10.40),other areas exhibited low resistance levels, with resistance ratios ranged from 7.16 to 8.39.Additionally,except for Baoshan District, which remained sensitive to fenthion(with resistance ratios of 1.67),other districts showed low resistance levels, with resistance ratios ranged from 5.00 to 8.33.Conclusion It is advisable to select and use insecticides based on the resistance characteristics of Ae.albopictus in each region of Shanghai, strengthen resistance monitoring, and delay the development of resistance.
