Abstract:Objective To understand the species composition, density, distribution and pathogen carriage of mosquitoes in the China-Russia border ports of Heilongjiang Province during 2023 to 2024,so as to provide reference for the prevention and control of mosquito-borne infectious diseases. Methods From May to October each year of 2023 to 2024,mosquitoes were collected in the operational areas of the ports and forest edges in 14 China-Russia border ports of Heilongjiang Province using light trap method. The samples were tested for Plasmodium, alphavirus and flavivirus by conventional PCR.Results A total of 1 584 light traps were set up in the 14 China-Russia border ports of Heilongjiang Province from 2023 to 2024,capturing 24 658 female mosquitoes, with an average mosquito density of 15.57 mosquitoes per(light·h).Among them, there were 21 363 Aedes vexans(86.64%),followed by Anopheles sinensis(2 620,10.63%).None of the 810 samples tested positive for Plasmodium, alphavirus or flavivirus. Conclusion The dominant mosquito species in the China-Russia border ports of Heilongjiang Province is Ae.vexans.Although Plasmodium, alphavirus and flavivirus have not been detected, the vectors of mosquito-borne infectious diseases are widely distributed in all border ports.Monitoring and testing of mosquitoes and the pathogens should be carried out continuously.
