Abstract:Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome(SFTS)is a new tick-borne disease.SFTS is mainly prevalent in East Asia, with a high incidence in the summer and autumn of each year. The disease is mainly transmitted by tick bites.SFTS is caused by Dabie bandavirus(DBV),and the main symptoms include fever, thrombocytopenia and leukopenia, even severe multiple organ failure. The disease is currently under the control of Class B infectious diseases in China. The genome of DBV consists of three RNA fragments:small(S),medium(M),and large(L).Pathogenicity differs by genotype. To better understand SFTS,this paper summarizes recent studies from the aspects of aetology, pathogenesis, prevalence, route of transmission and genetic diversity.
