Resistance of Musca domestica to three commonly used insecticides in Luojing Town,Shanghai

Abstract：Objective To investigate the insecticide resistance level of Musca domestica in Luojing Town,Shanghai,so as to provide a scientific basis for insecticide use and management as well as fly control.Methods The topical application method was used to determine the resistance levels of M.domestica to insecticides.Results For M.domestica in Luojing,2024,the LD50 values of pirimiphos-methyl,beta-cypermethrin and propoxur were 0.949 1,0.293 3,1.183 9 μg/♀;the resistance ratio were 14.08,34.10 and 20.55.Conclusion M.domestica in Luojing developed high resistance to beta-cypermethrin and propoxur,which should be avoided in use.The pirimiphos-methyl has developed moderate resistance,which should be reduced in use.Other insecticides of high sensitivity or with different mechanisms of action should be used in alternation to delay the development of resistance.
